I wasn't sure what to expect from "a May-December romance" as described by Netflix, but as I'm always a sucker for Shahrukh Khan I decided to give it a chance. And I was rewarded with a wonderfully tear-jerking, syrupy-sweet classic SRK performance. The cynicism of Om Shanti Om was not in evidence (although there were a few references to his previous movies and his hair did play a starring role). The dancing and music, well, was not all it was cracked up to be. Anushka Sharma as Taani gave a nice and believable, if not incredibly nuanced, performance. Mostly it's just fun to watch SRK do his thing. Three stars.
